Baby found abandoned on Texas daycare doorstep

ODESSA, Texas (AP) - A newborn boy is reported to be in good condition in a hospital after workers found him abandoned on a West Texas daycare center doorstep.

An Odessa Police Department statement says officers were sent to the Kidz Korral Day Care Learning Center about 1:30 p.m. Monday after workers at the center reported discovering the foundling.

The baby boy, described by police as apparently Hispanic, was taken to Medical Center Hospital for care before he was to be turned over to Child Protective Services. The police statement says the child's identity remains unknown.
