Congressman Thornberry comments on Keystone pipeline

Amarillo, TX - While Congressman Thornberry was in town we asked him about the controversial Keystone XL pipeline.

President Obama told a gathering in Oklahoma this week that lawmakers refused to give his administration enough time review the controversial 1,170-mile pipeline.

"If the President were to announce tomorrow that he were opening up the federal lands and offshore for drilling, that he was going to instruct the EPA not to harass oil drillers unnecessarily, I think you would see the price of oil go down immediately," Congressman Thornberry said.

The President went on to say that he wanted to ensure that it wouldn't compromise the health and safety of people living in surrounding areas.

Obama defended his decision to delay the rest of the pipeline project, which would have brought oil from Canada.
