Boy scouts hold drive for food bank

Amarillo, TX - Several thousand boy scouts and volunteers took to the streets Saturday for the 30th annual Scouting for Food event.

The food donated will help get a jump start on the summer demand for the High Plains Food Bank.  Their goal was exceeded with 14 thousand 17 pounds gathered today.  That is something the High Plains Food Bank is very excited about.

If you missed the scouting for food drive today, you can always donate to the High Plains Food Bank by dropping your food items off at the High Plains Food Bank or on-line at www.hpfb.org.

All of the food collected will stay here in the panhandle.  The Boy Scouts along with the High Plains Food Bank serve the top 26 counties in the Texas panhandle.
