Infant hurt in East Texas alcohol incident

TYLER, Texas (AP) - An East Texas man has been accused of providing alcohol to his girlfriend's son and the baby ended up hospitalized in critical condition.

Tyler police said Monday that Ronchekal Yon allegedly was intoxicated, put vodka in a cup and gave it to the year-old boy while the mother was present at their home.

1 of her relatives arrived Saturday and called 911. Police say Demarion Crow had a blood alcohol level higher than 0.20, or more than twice the legal limit for an adult to drive.

Yon has been charged with injury to a child, with bond set at $100,000. Online records did not list an attorney for him.

Police say the boy will be placed with Child Protective Services when discharged from a hospital. Further details weren't released Monday.
