Amarillo, TX - A special project was in Amarillo to help those who need wheelchair ramps for their homes.
The non-profit Texas Ramp Project builds ramps for those who otherwise would be homebound. The funding for the Amarillo project comes from the Bivins Foundation.
Clients are referred by the department on aging or by a health care representative. There are around 6,000 requests a year for wheelchair ramps. The group says they would like to have more to build.
