Former Curry County Jail Administrator awarded 70,000 in discrimination lawsuit

Clovis, NM - A former Curry County Jail Administrator has been awarded a nearly 70,000 dollar settlement in a discrimination lawsuit.

Lois Bean was removed from her position in 2009, and filed a lawsuit soon afterward.

New court records show Bean was awarded 69,000 and 500 dollars in addition to attorney fees.

The Curry County Jail has gone through several administrators since 2008 when eight inmates escaped the facility.
