Amarillo, TX -- An 11-vehicle pileup near Memphis hospitalized four people and shut down part of Highway 287 Monday afternoon.
Five semi trucks, two vans, and four passenger cars were involved in the wreck.
Traffic was diverted around the highway for several hours until the wreckage could be cleared from the roadway.
The Texas Department of Transportation said the biggest factor was a sandstorm brought on by high winds that severely limited visibility.
The Department of Public Safety told us that four people sustained non life-threatening injuries.
