Amarillo, Tx - A federal court's decision to delay the Texas primaries means the candidates for U.S. Senate have a long and potentially expensive slog ahead of them.
A judge has said the soonest Texans should expect to vote in a primary is May 29 - that's 84 days later than the original primary date set for March 6. That also means any run-off election will take place in august.
The longer primary gives lesser-known candidates more of a chance to develop name recognition and raise money.
