High speed chase ends with juvenile arrest

Amarillo, TX - A juvenile has been booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains after police say he stole a truck and led police on a high speed chase Friday morning.

Police say a stolen Dodge pickup was spotted by officers about 6:20 Friday morning at Amarillo Boulevard and Bivins.

A chase began and police twice laid spikes on the road. The suspect avoided the first but his tires blew on the second.

After continuing to drive, he abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. He was captured near 8th and Forest. He's been charged with auto theft.
