Amarillo officer cleared after shooting at a standoff suspect

Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo police officer is cleared after firing a shot at a man who barricaded himself in an area hotel room.

The Potter County Grand Jury says the Amarillo SWAT member did not do anything wrong when firing at Brandon Albritton in early February.

Albritton was inside a Super 8 motel room when police say he pointed a gun at an officer.

The grand jury also indicted Albritton for aggravated assault on a peace officer.
