Local cities receiving HUD funding

Amarillo, Texas - Areas of the Texas panhandle will soon receive part of a $72 Million dollar grant to improve public housing. Friday, the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced the funding for our area:

Housing Authority of Borger - $229,476
Housing Authority of Canyon - $39,837
Housing Authority of Wellington - $34,217
Housing Authority of Spearman - $13,100
Housing Authority of Clarendon - $77,657
Housing Authority of Tulia - $57,148
Housing Authority of Childress - $93,443
Housing Authority of Memphis - $89,927

These funds will go toward building, repairing, and modernizing the public housing in each of the communities. Visit www.hud.gov for the national list of recipients.
