Military budget cuts threatens bases around the country

Cannon Air Force Base should survive military budget cuts and is in better shape than many other bases across the country.

That's according to Curry County Commissioner Caleb Chandler.

Chandler made the comments after attending a conference with top Air Force officials in Washington.

The Air Force Secretary and Chief of Staff General Norton Schwartz made it clear that the pentagon is going to be making big cuts.

Cannon is home to the 27th Special Operations Wing.
