Local economic impact of Super Bowl Sunday

Amarillo, TX - Football fans are crowding local bars and restaurants for the big game.

Hundreds of people are expected to be at bars and restaurants in our area, that means thousands of dollars will be coming in.

We went to 7 Bar and Grill and Buffalo Wild Wings to see how they prepared.

At Buffalo Wild Wings their phones were ringing off the hook for to-go orders.

They expect to make around five-thousand dollars alone just on that.

They said this will be the biggest money-making day for them.

"Basically we have a lot of call in orders, people getting wings for their super bowl parties and stuff like that. So we have three cashiers when normally we have one. We ordered up on the wings. I mean it's just going to be non-stop for the next two hours," says Blake Harp, manager at Buffalo Wild Wings.

They expect to be at full capacity and may have to turn away fans.

Seven Bar and Grill started preparing for this day weeks in advance.

They made sure to stock up on beer and food to meet the demand.

Sunday is normally packed for them because of football but income-wise this will bring them more than double the amount of money they make on that night.
