Drought could lead to flooding problems

Amarillo, Texas - The drought conditions left many Texans suffering this past year, and now a different form of severe weather could pose a problem: floods.

Texas AgriLife says the flood risk will be greater in areas of the state that had tens of thousands of acres affected by the wildfires.

That's because when flooding and flash flooding occurs in areas where the ground is extremely dry, it cannot absorb sudden rain.
