Texas lottery game benefits vets

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A new Texas lottery game has veterans in mind with $2 scratch-off tickets saying "Honoring All Who Served."

Lottery officials say sales began this week for the Veterans Cash game.

Proceeds will help benefit the Fund For Veterans' Assistance, part of the Texas Veterans Commission. Organizers say the fund helps pay for transportation of vets to medical facilities, counseling, housing, legal assistance and career training.

More than 8.2 million Veterans Cash tickets are for sale, offering a total of about $10.7 million in prizes.
