New 'UFO' Roswell group forms -- sort of

ROSWELL, N.M. (AP) - A new UFO group in Roswell has formed.

But members aren't trying to track down THOSE type of flying objects.

The Roswell Daily Record reports that the United Field Ornithologists of Roswell held its first meeting last weekend and members plan to hold a number of events soon. Ornithology is the study of birds.

Jeff Cohen, UFO of Roswell president, said the group wants to hold field trips for bird watching, organize a bird festival and become a local chapter of the Audubon Society of New Mexico.

Roswell has been a popular spot for UFO fans after an alleged 1947 crash of a flying saucer near the small New Mexico city.
