WTAMU professor to study animal disease outbreak

Canyon, Texas - A professor at West Texas A&M University is conducting research that could have national impact on hoof and mouth disease for cattle.

Officials with WTAMU announced Friday that Dr. Robert DeOtte will receive $522,522 to research improved ways to respond if an emergency outbreak were to occur.
The research will specifically identify transportation options, alternative disease control, and restocking standards.
