Ban on plastic bags?

Amarillo, Texas - A new movement is sweeping across Texas, one that's banning what's being called the urban tumbleweed, or in other words, plastic bags.

Since they get snagged in trees and bushes, pile up on streets, clog drains and endanger wildlife, several city leaders are putting a stop to them.

They're still very much allowed in Amarillo, but Austin is set to vote on the ban soon, and if it passes there, it will be the biggest city in Texas with the ban.

South Padre Island, Brownsville and Fort Stockton already outlaw them.

It's happening in other states too - The ban is in place in San Francisco, Portland and Seattle.
