Potter County burn ban revised

AMARILLO, Texas---Potter County has modified the burn ban that was placed on the county due to this summer's extreme drought.

Residents are now allowed to burn household items and trash effective Dec. 12.

You can only burn trash that is enclosed in a barrel with a screen door on the top to cover the flames.

Along with the burning restriction modifications, the county also says some fireworks will be allowed for the New Year's holiday.

Ground fireworks and sparklers are now permitted.

However, Potter County continues to ban aerial fireworks and bottle rockets.
