Disabled and elderly get early Christmas

Amarillo, Texas - Hundreds of others in Amarillo and Canyon didn't have to wait until the 25th to celebrate Christmas.

The disabled and elderly were on the receiving end of "A Time to Share's" annual Christmas gift delivery day.

Nancy Haning, the Executive Director says, "These are folks who are low income, who have no other means of celebrating Christmas, so it's our blessing and our pleasure to get to celebrate Christmas with them here today."

Linda Brian adds, "We here believe that because we have been given much by God, we need to be sharing that with others."

Everything was donated by folks right here in our own community.

Organizers call the recipients the "forgotten generation" because there are so many programs to help needy kids at Christmas time, but all to often, needy adults are left out.
