Cops: 2-year-old's throat slashed by NM dad

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A 2-year-old is in critical condition after police said her Albuquerque father slashed her throat.

Police said 26-year-old Chee Livingston stabbed the young girl and the girl's mother, Blanche, who tried to stop him. Authorities said the man then tried to take his own life.

Police said an 8-year-old girl in the apartment called police.

The injured toddler was transported to a nearby hospital. Chee and Blanche Livingston are both in stable condition.

It was unclear if Livingston had been charged or if he had hired an attorney.

No further information was available.
