Amarillo, TX - A unruly passenger has been arrested after a Southwest flight makes an emergency landing in Amarillo.

The flight landed at Rick Husband Amarillo International Airport and the man was arrested by Amarillo Police.

The suspect is identified as 29-year-old Ali Shahsavari from California. He was booked into the Randall County Jail and is being charged with interference with a flight crew, which is a federal offense.

The FBI is investigating the incident. The flight started in Los Angeles and was scheduled to land in Kansas City.

Authorities originally reported that Shahsavari was trying to break into the cockpit, but now they just believe he was being very disruptive and loud near the cockpit.

They are not sure what his motives were, but they could not get him under control and were forced to divert the plane. No one was hurt in the incident.

The FBI does not believe this was an act of terrorism but they continue to investigate.
