Water Wasters coming to an end

NewsChannel 10

Amarillo, Texas - Since the weather is getting chillier and it's actually raining every now and then, we've decided to end our Water Wasters series.

We've come a long way since our first segment aired back in June. Then, Amarillo was using 89 million gallons of water a day. Now, we're down to 44 million.

The city says the series helped the conservation effort by keeping the water saving idea fresh in people's minds.

Just because the series is over and chillier weather is headed our way, though, doesn't mean it's time to stop conserving.

The city says it's extremely important to keep up the water saving efforts because we need to bolster our reservoir, which can be used as a back up water source in case we have a water main break again.

Thank you to everyone who sent in photos and contributed to our Water Wasters series.
