Eric Ross grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, a suburb of Houston. After graduating cum laude with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Houston, Eric made the 12-hour drive to Amarillo where he joins the NewsChannel 10 team.
Eric's broadcasting career began at age 17, when he was hired as a production intern and camera operator for MCTV-16, a municipal TV station in Missouri City, Texas. While there, he also had the opportunity to take an on-camera position and produce/anchor a bi-monthly televised newscast. In 2009, Eric was honored by the Texas Association of Municipal Officers with a third place award for "Best Municipal TV Station Newscast" in the state of Texas.
Eric then took a leap into "market 10" where he interned with the CW affiliate in Houston, KIAH-TV. Working with veteran reporters, photographers and editors helped further polish Eric's broadcasting skills.
Eric is thrilled to land his feet in Amarillo where he'll finally get to see some real snow in the winter months!
In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, eating out, and catching a late night movie.
Eric welcomes the opportunity to hear from you anytime. If you have any story ideas or comments, drop him a line at eross@newschannel10.com.
