SKELLYTOWN, TEXAS - Possible voter fraud is being investigated in an area city. The Carson County sheriff confirms exclusively to NewsChannel 10 they are investigating possible voter fraud in Skellytown's May election.
All of this stems back to the mayor's race. One of the write-in-candidates says a city employee was texting people from the polls asking them to come vote against the candidate.
Right now investigators are trying to get copies of all the ballots and they have contacted state authorities for help.
The Sheriff also wants to caution "There's a good chance this didn't happen." But he says, "there's also a chance it did. We just don't know yet."
This is still a developing story, NewsChannel 10 is going to head out there and see if we can find out more information. We hope to bring that to you Tonight at Ten.
