Amarillo, TX - To help conserve water and decrease your water bill a local company is helping residents find any water problems they may be having, for free.
In the extreme drought conditions, water is becoming a scarce item.
To help conserve, Scottco is doing free home water audits.
The water audits are to help residents realize how they can be more efficient with their water usage.
"We go around and we take a look at all of your fixtures to make sure that your fixtures are working properly, you don't have any leaks if you're using a high fixture we recommend replacing it for a low fixture in order to cut back on your water use and water cost," says Daniel Scott, with Scottco.
Scottco decided to start doing these free audits to ensure water is no longer wasted.
"We want to do our part and help out, we know that water is becoming a precious resource around here and we want to come and educate homeowners just how they can make small little changes to help save water," says Cara Hardin, Scottco's director of marketing.
Daniel Scott says there are common issues they find at homes while doing these audits.
"Over watering for sprinkler systems, people watering during the day time, leaky faucets, leaky outside faucets, pretty much leaks where nobody actually expects them."
Thankfully those problems can be easily fixed and will go a long way.
"It's going to help them out with their monthly water bill but also help out the community and save that water."
If you are interested in having a free home water audit done at your home or in receiving a low-flow faucet aerator, call Scottco at 355-4663.
