New Texas laws are on the books

Amarillo, Texas - It took a few extra weeks to get the job done, but Texas lawmakers passed 1,485 laws this legislative session.

Starting September first, the murder of a child 10 or younger will be a capital offense. All driver's ed teachers will have to pass a background check.

If you're 75 or older, you no longer need a license to fish.

If you like to hunt feral hogs, you'll be able to shoot them from a helicopter, provided you have the property owner's permission.
