Texas - Outdoor burn bans are affecting a record number of counties in Texas.
As the drought lingers, the Texas Forest Service says 246 counties are under a burn ban, including all of the panhandle.
The previous record before this year's drought was set in January 2006 with 221 counties having outdoor burn bans.
That mark was passed last month.
Since fire season started in November, Texas firefighters have responded to nearly 15,000 fires that have burned more than 3 million acres.
