Amarillo, Texas - There are now 20 counties in the Texas Panhandle banning the use and sale of fireworks, in light of this extremely, dry, hot and windy weather.
Several Eastern New Mexico counties are banning the use and sale of fireworks as well.
Curry County is outlawing all fireworks except for ground and hand held sparklers.
Roosevelt County plans on enforcing a strict ban as well.
Despite the bans though, the public fireworks shows on Fourth of July will go on in both Clovis and Portales... With firefighters standing by in case a fire sparks.
