ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Brock Osweiler led four scoring drives in the final tuneup for his third season as Peyton Manning's backup as the Denver Broncos beat Dallas 27-3 last night. The loss gave the Cowboys their fifth winless preseason in franchise history. Romo's backup Brandon Weeden came out before halftime of his second ragged game in four preseason outings.

HOUSTON (AP) - Jason Castro hit a grand slam as the Houston Astros beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 last night. Collin McHugh threw seven solid innings as he earned his third straight win. He allowed two runs and eight hits while striking out six. Castro snapped an 0-for-20 slump with a single in the second. He wiped out Texas' 2-0 lead in the fifth.

HOUSTON (AP) - Rookie linebacker Chris Borland returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown as the San Francisco 49ers beat the Houston Texans 40-13 last night. Third-string quarterback Josh Johnson threw three TD passes. Borland has been trying to move into the rotation to help fill the void left by NaVorro Bowman.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Kenny Hill broke Johnny Manziel's single-game passing record with 511 yards as No. 21 Texas A&M beat No. 9 South Carolina 52-28 last night. Hill's performance in his first career start proved there is plenty of life in the Aggies' offense without Manziel. Hill finished 44 of 60 with three touchdowns.
