UPDATE: Area Counties Fireworks Ban

Texas - Several counties in the Texas panhandle are banning fireworks this Fourth of July season.

Today Castro, Swisher, Donley, Collingsworth, Gray, and Lipscomb counties were added to the ban list.

The list already includes Potter, Randall, Moore, and Carson counties.

Today Carson county also received an extension on the declaration of disaster by Governor Perry.

This bans the sale or use of fireworks until July 7th

It's something many other counties are hoping to receive.
