Amarillo, TX - Potter and Randall Counties are thinking about banning fireworks in light of the very dry, windy weather.
But state law prohibits them from banning every kind of fireworks.
Right now, the ban would apply to every firework, except for the snap-and-pop kind.
In order for all fireworks to be banned, the Texas Department of Forestry has to declare the entire county a dangerous drought zone.
With weather this horrible, commissioners expect that to happen in the next week or so, meaning a blanket firework ban is likely imminent.
