Area fire update

The fire near Tanglewood in Tangleaire and Ranch acres is 90 percent contained.

So far it's scorched 500 acres... Destroying three homes and severely damaging three others.

Four outbuildings were also destroyed. Residents are now able to go back to their homes.

No word on what started the fire though. Those in the area stood by and watched in shock. "This is a pretty good size. Seems to be growing every second. Those poor people still trying to recover from the last fire" says Marri Fae Rusk. Those in the area were asked to leave their homes. The Cowboy Church opened it's doors to those who needed a place to go.

Turning to Hutchinson county now, a wildfire started off Reimer Road and FM 367. It forced people in the Southwest part of Stinnett from their homes, specifically those in the Scott Acre area. The Community Center at Stinnett was open for those who needed a place to go. The National Park Service, Moore County, Fritch, Borger and Skellytown all helped Stinnett crews fight the blaze.

Skellytown was called off that fire to fight their own at highway 60 and 152 west of Pampa. That fire burned 1,000 acres and is 100 percent contained now. Fire crews from Wheeler, Mobettie and Brisco County along with county road graders all came out to help Pampa and Gray County crews battle the flames.
