Palo Duro Canyon Fire

Canyon, TX - The wildfire in south Randall County is still burning. The Texas Forest Service says the fire in Palo Duro Canyon is 50% contained at this time.

Residents in the Ceta Canyon area are under voluntary evacuation orders, as well as residents in the Palo Duro and Sunday Canyon areas.

High winds continue to make containment difficult. A national organization, NIMO, two hot spot teams and helicopters are being called in to assist firefighters.

The blaze has burned an estimated 8,533 acres. A barn is the only structure said to have been burned.
