Texas - A bill that would ban the chemical hallucinogens in bath salts has made its way to Governor Rick Perry's desk.

The salts are sold at gas stations and smoke shops...

And many call them "synthetic cocaine" because when sniffed, they can cause hallucinations.

Texas lawmakers say the bath salts are dangerous and can even lead to death.

"I hope they get it off the shelves and I wish kids would find something else to occupy themselves," says James Baldwin, whose son died after taking bath salts.

If signed into law, the measure will go into effect in September and make the punishment for having bath salts a felony, in which users could face up to 99 years behind bars.
