Texas - Now that a budget deal has been worked out between negotiators at the Texas Capitol, the House must pass a school finance plan to pay for the four-billion dollar cut to the education system.
That plan is being debated today.
Massive layoffs could be down the road in education as the 80.6 billion dollar budget was announced Friday.
Massive cuts are made to all levels of state government, including public schools and health care for the disabled, elderly and poor.
The plan still has to be printed and go back to both chambers for final approval, which is expected this week.
