Texas - Daycare workers would need parental permission to give medicine to a child under a measure passed by the Texas Legislature.
The Senate voted today to prohibit child-care facility workers from giving medication to a child unless a parent or guardian has given written permission.
Violations would be punishable by up to a year in jail, and a fine of up to four-thousand dollars.
The House already passed the bill, sending the measure to Governor Perry's desk to sign.
