Gas prices guzzling your wallet and your fun

Amarillo, Texas - High gas prices are putting a dent in many people's pocketbooks and forcing them to cutback on other things.

With gas at 3.79 a gallon or more, many people agree driving less is not an option, so now they're cutting back on fun.

One of the most common things people are doing less of, or not at all, is going to the movies.

An area movie theater says business has been very slow, even on the weekends when they are usually busy.

Loretta Ochoa, Manager of Premiere Cinemas 6 says, "To us, I think it's the gas prices. People just can't afford to come here even though our movies are two dollars, but they still have to spend money on gas to get all the way out here."

The theater says people are still buying concessions, but they are keeping a much lower food inventory because of the drop off in customers.
