Texas - College freshmen and transfer students at Texas universities will now be required to get vaccinated against bacterial meningitis.
Lawmakers voted two years ago to require the vaccine for freshmen who live on campus.
The senate bill expands that to cover all new students, even those living off campus.
According to the Texas Medical Association, there are about 1,500 cases of bacterial meningitis in the U.S. every year.
More than 50 were diagnosed in Texas last year.
