Fire on Loop 335 and Eastern

Amarillo, TX - Fire crews returning from the funeral service of volunteer firefighter Elias Jaquez helped respond to an afternoon fire.

The fire happened in the 5400 block of Northside Drive around 3:00pm.

It started in a backyard near a trailer home and spread to two vehicles, but no structures were damaged.

Firefighters from both Pantex and Canyon helped put out the blaze.

Crews had the fire contained within an hour.
