Update: Texas personal data breach fallout

Texas - The state comptroller's office has spent nearly $2 million dealing with fallout from the public exposure of personal information of millions of Texans.

State officials say Texas Comptroller Susan Combs has spent $1.8 million mailing letters to those affected and hiring consultants to examine security at the office.

Federal officials are still investigating after driver license numbers, birth dates and social security numbers of more than three million Texans were posted online.
