CANYON, TX - Some West Texas A&M University students and administrators are hoping they have started a catalyst for change in the community.

Thursday, marks the wrap up of a three week long social justice awareness campaign on WT's campus. It's called "21 Days of Change."

"This is all about learning and experience. we hope students will take this into their personal lives wherever they go after this." sad WT Student Body President, Tim Vela.

Vela tells NewsChannel 10, this project started about a year and half ago when he met the founder of TOMS shoes.  The global company helps provide shoes to those who are without. Vela says after that meeting, he wanted to help make the WT community more aware of problems at home and far away...and hope that awareness would domino into action.

Thursday night, WT will host a lecture by Blake Mycoskie, the founder of TOMS shoes. If you are interested in attending, it is free and open to the public. The event starts at 8:30 p.m. at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
