Texas golf course shooting

DENISON, Texas (AP) - A resident of a North Texas country club neighborhood has been accused of fatally shooting a golfer who was approaching him to ask about the shooting of his dog.

A statement issued Wednesday by the Grayson County Sheriff's Office says Robert McInchak, 53, is free on $200,000 bond after he was booked on suspicion of murder in the Tuesday death of Shellman Lough Smith Jr., 58.

The statement says Smith was part of a golfing foursome when his dog wandered into a nearby yard.

The foursome heard a shot and saw the dog flee toward their carts and collapse.

As Smith approached the shooter, a second shot was heard and Smith fell wounded in the chest.
