Amarillo, Texas - Saturday is Global Youth Service Day... And some Amarillo teens celebrated by wrapping up their three month long effort to help the homeless.
Since January, they've been collecting clothes and hygiene items for folks at the Guyon Saunders Resource Center.
Their efforts are being called a big success... They were able to donate nearly 1,200 items to those in our community who really need them.
But organizers say the teens benefited as much as the recipients.
Youth Advisory Committee Coordinator Justin Johnson says,"I think it's important to teach the youth that it's never to early to make a change. They're not too young to make a change in the community. If adults see them working for the better, maybe it will make them push harder."
