Portales, New Mexico - A 13-year-old boy is found guilty of murder in Roosevelt County... The jury returned the verdict late Friday night against the teen in the July 2010 death of Angel Vale, an Eastern New Mexico University student.

He was convicted on charges of second-degree murder, aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence and larceny.

He faces a maximum of eight years in state custody... That's less than a quarter of the time an adult would face for the same crime.

The boy is charged with breaking into Vale's Portales house, stealing her fiance's rifle, and shooting her when she stumbled upon him with the gun in her backyard.
