HOUSTON — Investigators say an off-duty Harris County deputy constable was shot after getting into an argument with a pimp over money following sex with a prostitute.

Capital murder charges have been filed against 31-year-olf Lee Eldridge Sonier (SAHN'-yay), the alleged pimp, and 40-year-old Judy Lucille Hambrick, the alleged prostitute.

According to a probable cause affidavit released Friday, Hambrick performed a sex act on 47-year-old Deputy Constable Ronnie Earl Brewer in his car early Tuesday morning. Afterward, police say Sonier argued with Brewer and shot him.

The affidavit says Sonier and Hambrick might have been planning to rob Brewer.

Police say Hambrick stole Brewer's handgun after the shooting. It was recovered.

Online court documents show Hambrick is in custody, but police say Sonier is not. No attorney is listed for Hambrick.
