EL PASO, Texas (AP) - An apparently tired West Texas driver whose truck plunged off a 50-foot cliff has survived.
The El Paso County Sheriff's Office on Monday announced 28-year-old Homar Navarette-Estala of El Paso was being treated for minor injuries.
Deputies late Sunday were dispatched to the Trans Mountain Road when witnesses reported an SUV made a curve, but then went off the road and about 50 feet down the side of a mountain.
Rescue personnel safely removed the driver, who was alone in the vehicle.
Investigators say the accident likely involved driver exhaustion.
