New Mexico - Southeast New Mexico has the poorest health status in the state. According to new information released by the New Mexico department of health, the region including Roosevelt, Quay and Curry counties ranked the lowest health in the state.

The region has higher rates of adult smoking, chronic disease, and death than any other part of the state. Bernalillo county, which is its own region because of Albuquerque's high population, had the best health status in New Mexico.
