Drug bust on I-40 nets $100K of drugs

Vega, Texas -  Close to $100,000 dollars worth of drugs are reportedly confiscated in a traffic stop along Interstate 40.

Department of Public Safety says it happened around 9:30 Thursday morning west of Vega in Oldham County. Troopers say they stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and reported finding 27 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle that had an estimated street value of $96,000.

Two people were arrested and troopers believe the drugs originated in Los Angeles and were heading for Pleasant Hill, Illinois.
