Texas - Texas lawmakers say abusing animals can lead to hurting people.

And that's why they are considering an animal abuser registry.

Under the proposed law, anyone convicted of animal abuse would spend ten years on a public registry.

Rescue groups have mixed reactions to the bill.

Some say it's a step in the right direction, while others argue it does not do enough to protect the animals.

The proposed law is currently under review in the state senate.
